We asked Claude to tune a servo drive, live on a real machine

🎥 Today, we asked #Claude to tune a servo drive. On a real machine, live.

In the video you see three things side by side: the Claude terminal, Motorcortex DESK plotting the signals live, and the motor itself.

Claude started from scratch, with the control loops switched off. It read the documentation, brought the axis under control safely, and tuned the velocity and position loops step by step, measuring the result each time. Just as a control engineer would.

Then it went a step further. It noticed a small ripple repeating at the same spots on every turn: cogging, the magnetic "notchiness" of the motor. It moved the axis over several revolutions, mapped the ripple around the full circle, and cancelled it with a feedforward block that's built into Motorcortex. The motor now runs noticeably smoother.

What makes this possible is Motorcortex's open design. Every signal and setting of the machine is live and accessible, so Claude can read, plot, analyse and adjust the machine directly.

The result: a tuned, smoother drive and a full commissioning report, in a fraction of the usual time (the whole process took only 55 minutes in real-time, including the reporting).

Open control platform + #AI = a new way to do control engineering. 🚀
